A very special Christmas letter to you friends and neighbours
Warm season greeting and invitation to you from our pastor
Dear Friends and Neighbours,
As Christmas approaches, I just wanted to take a moment to write and wish you and your
family from all of us here at New Hope Church a warm and peaceful Christmas. This time of
year, has a special way of reminding us of what really matters: kindness, community, and the
hope that God brings into the world.
One of my favourite parts in the Christmas story is found in the Gospel of Luke, when the
angel announces:
“Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you,
He is Christ the Lord.”—Luke 2:11 (NIV 1984)
I love that little phrase: “born to you.”
It’s a deeply personal message. God didn’t stay at a distance; He entered our world, real
everyday life, bringing hope to ordinary people just like us. Jesus’s birth was a gentle way for
God to say, “I see you. I’m with you. I care.”
For many in our community, this year has brought its share of challenges: worries about
finances, health, family, or just the busyness of life. If you’re feeling the weight of any of that,
know you are not alone. The heart of Christmas is that God meets us right where we are,
offering peace when we feel anxious, light when things seem dark, and hope when we feel
unsure.
As a church, we regularly pray for the homes and families on our estate. If ever you need a
listening ear, a prayer, or simply someone to talk to, then we are here. And if you don’t have a
place to celebrate Christmas this year, you’d be very welcome to join us-you’ll find a friendly
face, a warm drink, and a community that genuinely cares.
From all of us at New Hope Church, may this Christmas fill your home with peace, your
hearts with hope, and your days with small but meaningful reminders that God is closer than
you think.
Wishing you and your loved ones a truly joyful Christmas.
With warmest Christmas blessings,
Rev Mark Witherden New Hope Church
